Wandering Ware off-setting carbon emissions

Our cryptocurrency charitites section contains many donations made by companies within the industry. However, not every charity has been set up by the big players, and we are seeing individuals from within the community getting involved for good. Our first highlighted individual goes by the twitter handle Wandering Ware

What is Wandering Ware:

Based in Sydney, Australia, social enterprise was set up by an Investor the in XRP cryptocurrency. Realising the level of C02 emisions from computing within the cryptocurrency world, for DLTs and POW mining, they wanted to offset these effects.

The XRP project

This project will offset the carbon produced by the technology behind Ripple’s technology, the $XRP currency itself and ultimately address destruction mining from PoW cryptocurrencies. This project is a vehicle for change, to show individuals how one community, one individual can initiate change. The purpose is to revitalise our environment for my children’s children and inspire our  community to believe that they can do the same.

How it works

The idea is simple.
Purchase one shirt and one tree gets planted.
This tree will do the heavy lifting to offset Co2 emissions why you look good wearing your $XRP apparel.

Why trees

Forests are more than just a collection of trees – they are integrated ecosystems and home to some of the most diverse life on Earth. They are also the major players that make life possible, absorbing carbon and integral water cycles. When forests are lost or degraded, their destruction sets off a series of changes that affect life both locally and around the world.

Our Partner

You can’t do everything by yourself. This is why I have teamed up with One Tree Planted, a non-profit on a mission to reforest our planet, provide education and awareness on the importance of trees and our ecosystem. When you purchase a T-shirt, we will transfer money to One Tree Planted who will plant trees on our behalf. These trees will help communities across the globe. These trees will offset carbon emissions produced by Ripple technology.

It is highly encouraging to see Wandering Ware openly addressing an often mentioned criticism of the cryptocurrency industry. They can’t tackle everything by themselves, and we hope that by raising awareness for them will help them continue their good work. Spread the word!
